Two characters who never speak. Their conversation becomes music.
The film has no dialogue at all. That became the starting point.
The two main characters, a girl and her dog, speak to each other without words, and their conversation manifests itself as music. I decided to carry it with the voices of a girl and a young boy singing an old Scots song about friendship. I chose Scots deliberately, because most of the audience won't understand it. The words are stripped of their meaning, and what remains is pure sound, emotion and the bond between the two of them.
